These discs are categorized as 'seconds' due to subtle cosmetic imperfections in the stamp, resulting from the dyeing process.
The Cub - Otso's son is a disc that Seppo Paju has designed for his own son. The birth of Seppo's child was such a significant moment that he wanted to immortalize it by creating a special batch of discs, focusing particularly on their visual appearance. 'The Cub', which means bear cub in English, cleverly reflects the Otso family.
The chosen disc is the PA-5. Seppo selected this playful disc for the project, referencing the desire of children to play. It is also excellently suited for younger players, which was one of the reasons for its selection. For the material, Seppo chose a particularly clear blend of 400 plastic, known at the factory as 400 Crystal. This material was specifically chosen because Seppo wanted to dye the discs using traditional gradient dyeing techniques, bringing joy and individuality to each disc. The dyeing was expertly done by the American JBird.
For the stamp design, Seppo confidently chose Ella K, who had previously designed the Final Otso and The Archer 4 stamps. Ella has been able to beautifully realize Seppo's visions, and this trust was once again rewarded. The disc was finished with a dual foil stamp, utilizing two different printing inks.
